Cotton Association of India (CAI) has diminished its cotton crop manufacturing estimate for the 2021-22 season, which begins on October 1, by 2.33 % in its March estimate, which was launched lately. The CAI has diminished its cotton crop estimate for the 2021-22 season by 8.00 lakh bales to 335.13 lakh bales (of 170 kg every), down from 343.13 lakh bales beforehand.
“The CAI estimates the total cotton supply for the months of October 2021 to March 2022 at 343.68 lakh bales, which includes arrivals of 262.68 lakh bales, imports of 6 lakh bales, and an opening stock of 75 lakh bales at the start of the season,” the CAI stated in a launch.
Furthermore, the CAI has estimated cotton consumption for the months of October 2021 to March 2022 at 175 lakh bales, whereas export shipments are estimated at 35 lakh bales as much as March 31, 2022.
Stock is estimated to be 133.68 lakh bales on the finish of March 2022, together with 75 lakh bales with textile mills and the remaining 58.68 lakh bales with the CCI, Maharashtra Federation, and others, together with shares held by MNCs, merchants, ginners, MCX, and cotton offered however not delivered.
