The analysis staff was led by computational biologist Ashok Kumar Sharma, a postdoctoral researcher who beforehand labored on the University of Minnesota and is now at Cedars-Sinai. To profile the fungal and bacterial neighborhood composition, the researchers sequenced ITS2 and 16S rRNA gene markers in faecal samples from 4 nonhuman primate species and three completely different human teams.
